Frequently Asked Questions
Here you will find answers to questions that we are frequently asked.
If you have a question that it not answered here, please do not hesitate to contact us using our
contact page.
Question: Do you accept single-sex groups?
Answer: Unfortunately no, we only accept families and couples at Trenance. We can't accept mixed-sex groups either!
Question: How close are you to the amenities of the town centre?
Answer: We're approximately 0.79 miles from the town and 0.83 miles from the nearest beach, so it shouldn't take more than 15 minutes to walk.
Question: Do you have a clubhouse or any entertainment on-site?
Answer: Being so close to the town centre, and also having a family pub about 5 minutes walk away, we've found it makes sense not to have any kind of bar or clubhouse on site. This keeps it nice and quiet for those who want a good night's sleep!
Question: Do you have a swimming pool?
Answer: We don't, but we are directly next-door to the Trenance Leisure Complex. This has 2 indoor swimming pools (one with slides), tennis courts / cafes, children's playground, skate park, zoo, bowling green, golf pitch-&-putt and boating lake.
Question: Do you accept dogs on-site?
Answer: Unfortunately we don't.
Question: Do you provide bed-linen?
Answer: The caravans have blankets (NOT duvets) and pillows, but the chalets have blankets, pillows AND duvets. Customers are requested to bring their own bed-linen and towels. Sheets & pillowcases can be hired for £5 a set (this would be enough for 2 people); just make a note on the booking form. We don't hire out duvet covers, so if you plan to make use of the duvets in the chalets you would need to bring your own covers. **6-BERTH CHALETS: please note that there are only duvets in the bedrooms; the pull-out bed in the lounge area is equipped with BLANKETS only!**
Question: Are we allowed to have BBQs on-site?
Answer: We don't mind people having BBQs outside their caravans / chalets at all (as long as all the debris is cleared away)!
Question: Can I pay over the phone?
Answer: The original booking and deposit payment must be carried out either by post (fill out a booking form and send it with either a cheque or card details) or online. We CAN however accept balance payments over the phone with a credit / debit card.
Question: What are the differences between chalets and caravans?
Answer: The chalets are fixed cedarwood "lodges"; they are larger than caravans and the kitchens boast a proper fridge-freezer (whereas the fridges in the caravans just have a small freezer compartment). Really it's just a matter of personal preference!
Question: Are the caravans / chalets heated?
Answer: The chalets have an electric fire in the living area, and the caravans have a gas fire in the living area.
Question: Am I able to book "odd" days?
Answer: We allow short breaks for most of the season, however from 19th July - 13th September we can only accept bookings for caravans / chalets for a MINIMUM of 7 days, and the week must run from Saturday to Saturday. The same is true for camping bookings, however here the restriction only applies from 19th July - 16th August. Please note that short breaks for caravans / chalets must be for a minimum of three days. To work out the prices for a short break, use the "Daily Rate" figures in red on the tariff. Simply multiply by however many days you want to stay!
Question: How much deposit do I have to pay?
Answer: £50 per caravan / chalet per week, or £21.50 per camping pitch per week (the £1.50 is a non-returnable booking fee).
Question: When do I have to pay my balance?
Answer: The balance of your holiday is payable no later than 3 weeks (21 days) before the arrival date of your holiday. This can be sent through the post or paid over the phone with a credit / debit card.
Question: How much do the showers cost for campers?
Answer: The shower tokens are 20p each and last for about 10 minutes, so one is usually enough for a shower. They can be purchased either at Reception, in the shop or from the camping wardens, and if you don't use all of the ones you have bought then please don't take them home; simply return them to us and we will refund your money! (The same tokens can be used to operate the irons in the Launderette and should last around 15 minutes.)
Question: Is there somewhere I can store my valuables?
Answer: Yes, all chalets and most caravans have a digital safe which is free for you to use. No need to worry about losing a key, you simply choose and set your own pin code which will unlock it for you. **Note: Some caravans do not have this feature**
Question: How can I get a booking form?
Answer: You can go to the Document Downloads section of this site (yellow panel on bottom right of the homepage) and print a booking form and tariff from there. Alternatively send us an e-mail request using the contact form, or call us on 01637 873447 and press 1 for the brochure request line.
